Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed a message of peace from India to the Israeli populace during a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday.
The United States has historically supported Israel, protecting it from sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council in recent years.
Modi called for enduring peace and stability, reflecting the sentiments of the Indian population regarding the ongoing conflict involving Israel, Gaza, and Iran.
"Received a phone call from PM @netanyahu of Israel. He briefed me on the evolving situation. I shared India's concerns and emphasised the need for early restoration of peace and stability in the region," Modi stated.
On Thursday, Netanyahu pledged Israel would confront Iran concerning its nuclear weapons program. The Israeli Prime Minister asserted that Iran would not be permitted to advance its nuclear weapons initiatives aimed at the Israeli state.
“Today, Jewish State refuses to be a victim of a nuclear holocaust, perpetrated by the Iranian regime. I have made it clear time and again, Israel will never allow those who call for annihilation to develop the means to achieve them,” Netanyahu stated in a video shared on his X account on Friday.
News reports surfaced today indicating that Israel had conducted air strikes on Iran, resulting in the deaths of numerous Iranian commanders and damage to a nuclear facility.
Last week, 14 members of the UN Security Council voted in favour of a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza; however, the US vetoed it, arguing that it lacked balance and did not grant Israel's right to self-defense.
An Islamic scholar and activist based in the US, Dr. Omar Suleiman criticised the US for its unwavering support of Israel.
Iran's military stated, "Fight them until mischief ends and obedience remains for God. The Noble Quran (2:193)." They also cautioned the public against capturing and sharing videos and images of missiles.
